If you’ve been eager to build in Web3 with your JavaScript experience, then there’s great news: the BytePitch team has launched the first Agoric Bootcamp as part of its Chainboard Academy. The 10-week bootcamp combines lectures and small projects to get you up to speed with Agoric, the JavaScript tech stack to rapidly build and deploy decentralized applications.

As a participant, you’ll be assigned a mentor to guide you through the process, in addition to peer-to-peer learning. You’ll walk away with the ability to build, test and deploy your own dApps on the Agoric chain, including an understanding of the Agoric SDK, hardened JavaScript framework, and application deployment.
Chainboard has a history of great Web3 training. They handpick the devs who lead the project-based lessons and do live lectures. By the time you’re done with the bootcamp, you’ll have a full set of Agoric platform skills to expand your Web3 practice, or get your Web3 career rolling.
Do you need a web3 background?
No formal Web3 experience is required for this bootcamp. This program is open to all developers who have an appetite to expand their stack knowledge and have the drive to create their own projects in the growing Agoric ecosystem. The point of this bootcamp is to get you past the difficult first steps that are inevitable when getting started on a new platform.
Prerequisites
1-2 years of programming experience with Node.js
Good understanding of web development and CS fundamentals
Understanding of blockchain fundamentals
What will you be capable of after 10 Weeks?
Graduates will be able to build, test, and deploy their own dApps on the Agoric blockchain. You will be comfortable with the Agoric SDK and able to create projects that can contribute to the ecosystem development.
Does the bootcamp cost me anything?
The first week including the lecture, workshop, and homework is free. By the second week, Chainboard Academy will ask students to mint course Badges (or a similar mechanism) which will then be distributed to students upon completion of the course.
What BytePitch’s training track record?
Historically, 75% of Chainboard Academy graduates have gotten employed shortly after finishing one of the bootcamps. This will be Chainboard’s first bootcamp for a project outside the Ethereum ecosystem.
Does it matter where you live?
Ultimately it doesn’t, but the initial bootcamp has been aimed for European and U.S. students, which will be reflected in the timing of the sessions.
