This month marked a major evolution for Agoric—focused on delivering real value to real users through intelligent, orchestrated cross-chain experiences directly into their hands.
What We Are Building
The next stage for Agoric is about enabling automated, intelligent crypto movement and yield maximization across chains. Users want to put their crypto to work across multiple ecosystems, without the complexity and frictions that define today’s DeFi landscape.
Orchestration lets us achieve something unique here, on the Agoric Network. We’re currently in discovery mode—prototyping, gathering user input, and validating what should come next. We will share as we go. The phases are:
Product discovery with customer interviews and prototyping through Q2
Product development and early feature releases through Q3
Beta launch of the initial application, focused on real user engagement and iterative improvements in early Q4
Our goal is to ship a valuable product, learn continuously, and involve the community in shaping the final product.
Tokenomics Evolution
To support this strategy, we are evolving the tokenomics—beginning with transitioning BLD to the primary gas and fee token, replacing IST. This will simplify the user experience, link orchestration success to demand for network resources, and enable stronger value accrual for BLD holders.
The phases for token evolution include:
Transition BLD to gas and fees, beginning with IST-to-BLD migration in May
Additional value alignment initiatives, rolling out through Q2, focused on reinforcing BLD’s central role in network economics
Whitepaper refresh: Targeted for Q3 2025, updating tokenomics to reflect the product-led roadmap and new strategic focus
This transition is mapped out to position BLD centrally, as a clearer source of value capture for the Agoric network’s growth and future applications. Feedback from the Agoric community will be important throughout this process.
