The Orchestration API provides for the first time in web3 simple, high-level abstractions for developers to build seamless and user-friendly multi-chain experiences - fully on-chain.

Last week we announced the roll-out of our Orchestration API, a toolset that empowers developers to create next-gen web3 applications that seamlessly coordinate digital assets and services across multiple blockchain ecosystems. This means that users can now benefit from frictionless, one-click interactions across multiple chains and unlock access to their entire on-chain liquidity.

With over $2 trillion in liquidity now spread across different blockchains (Ethereum, Solana, L2s, L3s, appchains, sovereign rollups, subnets and more), users are too often left with complex, arduous experiences when they interact with tokens and applications across ecosystems. While many bridges and interoperability solutions have been launched, the user experience is still broken. As users, we are required to take many manual steps across different applications, leaving our crypto assets often trapped within isolated platforms.

Orchestration changes this by abstracting away the complexities of cross-chain communication, simplifying the development process for programmers and unlocking a new era of universal liquidity:

  • For users, the Orchestration API enables chain abstraction solutions to have frictionless, one-click interactions across multiple chains.

  • For developers, orchestration provides cross-chain programmability thanks to our multi-block execution environment and simple JavaScript APIs to manage accounts and assets on remote chains.

  • For the web3 ecosystem, it provides composability across protocols no matter which chain they are deployed on.

Commenting on the API launch, Dean Tribble, CEO of Agoric Systems said: “The web3 economy is rapidly expanding, yet blockchains and assets are isolated and incompatible across a sea of applications. By providing an API for developers to enhance interoperability and unlock liquidity across blockchains, we’re paving the way for the multi-chain future. Orchestration uniquely enables both new and existing applications with innovative features and business logic that aren’t available anywhere else.”

Interchain trading terminal Calypso will leverage Agoric Orchestration to launch their Staking Widget. With just one click, users can stake into any IBC-enabled chain from almost any starting token (ETH, SOL, BTC, etc.) This process of cross-chain staking would normally take approximately six individual steps or signatures, but with Agoric Orchestration – it’s only one action.

Commenting on the integration, John DiBernardi, Co-Founder of Calypso said:

“When it comes to executing actions across multiple blockchains, Agoric Orchestration is simply unmatched. We’ve been able to simplify time-intensive and incredibly frustrating DeFi tasks into a one-click experience that both users new to DeFi and those that are seasoned will greatly appreciate.”
